Family & Consumer Studies Building at Los Angeles Mission College
Construct an approximately 73,000 SF building that will house the culinary arts department and the campus bookstore together with site improvements including tie-ins to campus utilities and infra structure. Major building components include various kitchen laboratory spaces, production kitchen areas, a kitchen demonstration lecture hall, a student dining hall, a faculty dining hall, a presentation dining room, extensive walk-in coolers & freezers, kitchen storage & delivery areas, bookstore storage & merchandising areas, lecture classrooms and staff offices & support areas. Additional construction components include various exterior dining areas, a service yard, a storm water collection and infiltration “arroyo” with extensive landscaping, a pedestrian bridge, exterior lighting, pedestrian walkways and re-grading and paving approximately 20,000 SF of the campus fire access and service road. The project also includes demolition and clearing of existing buildings, structures and utilities within the 1.9 acre site. This is a LEED project.
